Wayside Waifs is proud of the high level of veterinary care we are able to provide to our shelter animals. Our medical team is comprised of veterinarians and veterinary technicians. Not only do we offer routine and basic care such as vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries for our pets, we provide a wide array of medical services to enhance the future and quality of life for our shelter animals.

Wayside Waifs is also dedicated to helping third and fourth year veterinary students gain experience in shelter medicine. Participating students spend two weeks in our clinic and work hand-in-hand with our skilled veterinary staff. With the addition of on-site housing, we can comfortably accommodate up to two students at a time. During their stay, students will experience every facet of shelter medicine and shelter operations.
We strive to make our students' experiences unique. Some students prefer to stay strictly in the clinic and gain as much medical experience as possible. Other students enjoy the opportunity to learn more about shelter operations and spend some of their time shadowing other departments. Students can adapt their schedules based on their personal interests.
