In 2014, first graders Abby and Emma decided they wanted to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals in our community. They made their wish come true by hosting a lemonade stand on behalf of Wayside Waifs, raising over $2,000! From hosting lemonade stands to participating in Strutt With Your Mutt on a the team Abby and Emma's Run with the Waifs, these two young philanthropists have raised nearly $20,000 for homeless, abused and neglected animals in our community. This will be the girls 8th year participating in Strutt with your Mutt as Junior Event Co-chairs and we are goaling the team to contribute $6,000.
We have until Sunday, September 24th (the day of the event) to raise our donations. Your donations will help continue to support Wayside Waifs is Kansas City's largest and most comprehensive no-kill adoption campus. Wayside cares for more than 6,000 abandoned, abused and homeless animals every year.
Wayside's mission is preparing people and pets for the bond of their lives. They provide animal adoptions, animal rescues, foster care programs, humane education programs including No More Bullying!, the Bark Park (an off-leash dog park), Whiskers & Wags (an on-site pet retail boutique), pet memorial services, and volunteer opportunities.
With your generous support to Strutt With Your Mutt, you are making a direct impact to the homeless animals at Wayside Waifs, giving them a second chance at finding a fur-ever home! We encourage you to join us on September 24t h.
